Frequently Asked Questions

In an effort to reduce the unbelievable redundancy in thread topics on the board, I've tried to compile a list of threads dealing with some of the more frequently-asked questions. This is not a comprehensive list of every thread on these topics (not even close), but it should help give newcomers some answers, or at least let them see what arguments have been made. Hopefully this will be pinned and prevent needlessly repetitive threads, so we won't have to have the 25th debate about whether undergrad matters and make the exact same points as in the previous 24.

I thought of these off the top of my head and didn't spend a huge amount of time searching, so if I missed any common thread topics or there's a better thread discussing the issue (I tried to avoid 12-page threads full of personal attacks, but there are still some of those), please add them. Thanks.

Good post. It would be even more helpful, though, if the links are named, rather than just showing up as a link.

Another possible FAQ for anyone interested in looking up old threads:

"Should I graduate early?"

(And with this comes all of the "I know this has been asked before, but I'm different because I'm really young, I'm really old, if I stay longer I can have three majors, etc." situations.)

Also, perhaps something about taking time off between undergrad and law school.

And something that wouldn't have a list of links under it, but might still be noted in a thread like this, is "If you haven't taken the actual LSAT, don't ask for specific chances."

After the majorly obvious questions (Does Major Matter, Does Undergrad Matter), this is less a list of "please don't ask this again" questions and more a list of "please just check this first" resources. Just to clarify. I still think people should feel absolutely free to ask their questions if they really do feel that they have unique situations, but it'd be helpful for something like this to be pinned so that respondents could point and say "Nope...that's been covered. See above."

This amazing, man. Thanks a lot for doing this.

yes thanks for doing this

i just returned to this Site today and glad to be back and something like this is great
