Hi, I am new and I am just wondering can i just start over my freshman year somewhere else?

I am a freshman at UPitt and have 21 credits and i just want to use my high school stats and start over at a different college.

my 1 semester grade was 2.77 then second semester dropped to 2.02.

the death of my uncle, not having any friends, and also just feeling lonely all effected my grade.

my uncle by the ways died with AIDS and also lung cancer...

You can transfer somewhere else but you’ll have to send your transcripts from UPitt.

i know i just know to start again freshman year

No, your academic records will pretty much follow you everywhere you want to go. Can’t start over, that would be a dream come true for millions.

Except… some schools only use their grades in calculating your graduating gpa. I went to college at 17, wasn’t a good idea. I put myself back through school a few years later and graduated summa cum laude with a 3.94/4.0. That was some time ago however, and your grades won’t help you transfer.

When you transfer schools your GPA does not transfer with you but your academic record does.

It’s like retaking a class. If you initially received an F, your GPA will reflect that grade. However, if you retake the course and receive an A, your GPA will now reflect the better grade and the F you received no longer weighs on your GPA - BUT the F is still on your transcript (majority of schools operate in this fashion).

Can I reapply for freshman admissions?
I have 21 credits and 24 credits is a full year college student…
So technically I am still a freshman… right?
I don’t mind my GPA following me I just want to enjoy my 4 years of college

I’m pretty sure after you’ve taken 12 college credits you will have to apply as a transfer student. The fact that you’re still “technically” freshman status makes no difference. Having said that, most colleges require that you have a minimum of 24-30 credits in order to transfer.
