Freshman/Accepted Students day?

Does anybody know when American’s Freshman Day/Accepted Students day is?

I think it’s April 20th.

If you are at all interested in AU, go to Accepted Students Day. My daughter was not interested but we signed up for ASD at both GW and AU, which were the same day. We left GW after a couple of hours and headed over to AU. It was the ASD that made my daughter seriously consider AU. I wish we had spent the whole day there. They do a great job.

I’ll second that. My daughter and I went to an admitted students program elsewhere on a Monday; it was OK. We went to AU’s on the following Friday; it was phenomenal. By 2:00 my daughter said, “OK, I’m ready. Let’s pay the deposit and go buy a sweatshirt.”

I think this is worth mentioning because AU’s notification process does not always reflect well on the university. But the program for admitted students was absolutely fantastic.

Can you please elaborate on why it was so great? I’m still debating whether or not I should attend.

Here is my report from last year. I didn’t go into detail about the schedule, or about cute little methods of crowd control that they used to keep it from being an aversive free-for-all, but those were little touches I appreciated a LOT.

My daughter was accepted into SIS & we’re looking to do a site visit in April. Any thoughts on the Freshman Day vs the School specific overnight day? We can make one more visit to DC and was looking for feedback
