Hello... I have been admitted to UCSD as a Freshman for Fall 2010 and can anyone tell me if I'm doing my calculations right...?

I attend a high school that doesn't have AP classes and instead, we take college classes at a local community college and if done right, we get our AA/IGETC and AS degree by the time we graduate high school, according to our counselors. I'd be getting both by graduation.

And now, according to UCSD's transfer website, all transferable semester units need to be multiplied by 1.5 to get the total quarter units. Right now, I have 47 UC transferable units in my CCC transcript and I have 6 more units in process. I plan to take a PHP First Aid and CPR class during the summer and that is 3 units but I don't know if that's transferable.

So anyways... with my 47 units and 6 units = 53 units and times that by 1.5 is equals 79.5. So does that mean I'd have 79.5 units in my first year? and is that close to Junior standing?

Still. That high sophomore standing is really good. But honestly, it doesnt even really matter. Its not like you’re going to graduate in 2 years unless you had all you’re GEs and quite a few of your major requirements already completed.

The only benefit you get from this is that you know that after your first quarter, you’ll be getting most of the classes that you want (assuming they arent upper division classes that upperclassmen can still enroll for before you)

Yeah that is true… maybe 3 years if I take summer classes – since my major is Physiology and Neuroscience and I hear it is quite demanding and it has a lot of requirements.

And it’s good to know that I won’t have to worry about getting my classes as much. I was pretty worried about that especially I didn’t get Regent’s scholarship :/

Maximum units are 200 for a single-major student. You can always ask for an exception if you need, just have a reasonable explanation.

Keep in mind that all maximum unit limits do not count your AP score units. I’m not sure about CC transfer units, so you might want to ask about that. They will count for minimum unit things though.
