Freshman Applicants - Fall 2010

Keep the faith, Sundoll!! good luck and I hope you hear soon, it is definitely nerve wracking!!

anyone know when the next batch of decisions will be released?

My daughter has a UTID. On what page will be status be updated? Sorry to ask such a stupid question.

Thanks,

She can get to it if she logs into the UT Direct website, but if she doesn’t feel comfortable navigating from the main dashboard and the site directory, she should have an email from UT that confirmed her application submission (not the one from Apply Texas, this is separate) and it has a link that goes directly to the status page.

If she goes to the “Bealonghorn” website and logs in with her UT ID and password, it will take her directly to her status page which shows what all they’ve received and if they are reviewing the app yet.

Here’s the Be A Lonhorn site - and the login is on the top right hand corner

sleepieone - haven’t you ever heard there is no such thing as a stupid question? :)

Here’s the direct UT log on site.

Thank you:)

This is a stupid question but still I m going to ask
does anybody have any idea how many applicants got confirmed admission to McCombs for 2010 Fall?

At this point, no.

I want to add few other things to my previous question. Could the people who already got admission in the Business School tell us their ranking? It would help us in big way

The two that I know of at this point: one is a valedictorian, so 1%, the other is 7%, but considered a salutatorian at our school (32 ACT).

Thanks ag54! Hope others will also tell us their rankings etc. My son’s statistics are:
in 3.3%
ACT 31
GPA 4.19
3 essays
He is president of FBLA, vice president of Habitat for Humanity
He applied on 10/15

How are people finding out they have been accepted already…are these top 10% Texas kids?

My son is OOS and will send his app in this weekend. He will then apply for Honors programs. When would he expect to hear about acceptance to Texas? Honors programs? How many honors programs can you apply too?

Yes, they are top 10% kids. They are guaranteed admission, so hear early.

It depends on your son’s application as to when he’ll hear. If it’s a “no brainer” like 4.0 with a 2400, he’ll hear pretty quickly, if it’s not, it will be after the deadline and into the spring.

You can apply to as many as you want, but you have to have declared that as your 1st or 2nd choice major, meaning, you can’t apply for engineering honors if you are applying to liberal arts 1st choice and business 2nd choice.

I submitted the app about a week ago and my Status Check indicates that the “committee is reviewing [my] application.” Apparently this means I’ll get a decision for UT Austin pretty soon, but when will I receive Honors Programs decisions?

That takes longer, it is a completely different group of folks who are reading those apps. It will depend on which program you are applying for also.

It takes FOUR weeks for SAT scores to get sent by CollegeBoard!? Blargh, this is gonna delay my plans so much :(

heinochus, would u let us know when u receive your decision? thanks

D got accepted to Communication School - Advertising Program! Yippee!!

Saw Monday morning that I was accepted in Cockrell (Biomedical.)

I had a statistically good app (1500+ SAT, top 5%) so that might have hurried things along.

Congrats to both of you!!!

Heinochus, that is huge getting accepted to biomedical engineering. I’ve heard it is the hardest major to get accepted into!!
