will i still be able to apply as a freshman, if i have completed one year of college.

Not as far as i know

i have heard people from my country do that so i guess its possible. i mean they attend some state unis..community colls in the us and rather than transfering,,they apply as a freshmen,,,because there are more chances of getting in with good aid,,which almost everyone here can't do without.

BTW why would you want to do it??

The vast majority of colleges in the United States would not accept a community college student as a freshman applicant; rather, they are transfer students. isnwta, they may be able to apply as freshmen if the college they attended wasn't in the US; since they may not be able to get credit for the foreign classes, it may be acceptable.

OP, you need to look at the colleges you want to apply to as a freshman and look at their definition of "transfer student". They'll tell you.

i dont think so,,(for US univs)
if i could,,i would do that too,,

you could if you do your freshman in foreign univs that isnt accredited by US univs.

but i know you surely can do that for univs in Singapore.

i didnt get into the universities where i desperately wanted to go, and the places where i got in arent offering me aid.... this all happend because of low sat scores, m 720 cr 560 and 610 wr, although my overall academic transcript is amazing. well anyways.... i can easily get into a university here in pakistan... but i want to reapply next year as a freshman coz that way ill have better chances of getting in

No, you can't. On your application, you will have to account for the year after graduating from high school. A gap year is fine but if you are enroll formally for any time in college, foreign or domestic, you are considered a transfer applicant.

I think you can still apply as a freshman even if you go to community college, because that's what I'm doing (homeschooled) and I've checked with several admissions offices to confirm

lolcats4, did you go to community college as part of your high school curriculum, taking CC classes instead of hmeschooling those subjects? If so, those classes are treated differently. If you graduate from high school and then go to community college, you generally cannot apply as a freshman.

That's right. After you have received your high school diploma or GED, any time in college, communtiy or otherwise, will make you a transfer candidate.
