Freshman, Are My Classes A Good Start?

Hello! I am currently a freshman and my dream University is Stanford. And I know this is very early to be asking if I have a chance but I just want to know if I have a good start to my highschool career.

Courses:
Hon English 9
Hon Matter and Energy
Hon Geometry
Spanish 2 (You cannot take honors Spanish until you reach Spanish 3)
Intro to Engine Design
P.E (Fitness)

ECs:
SGA
Model U.N
Leos Club (a club where we do things that help our community)

Future Sports:
Softball (Starts in spring )
Swim Team (Starts in Winter)

I am planning to take AP Physics and AP NSL Government next year and I am publishing my first novel in a few months (starting the editing process and trying to find an agent).

Any advice would be nice and much appreciated.

Do you have a social studies? if not I would definitely consider changing intro to engine design for history or something like that. Also, is matter and energy a requirement for your hs? if it is, then keep it, but if not, consider switching into something more generic like bio or chem.

A few thoughts.

  1. It is too early to be thinking about colleges at all.
  2. You should be thinking more about making the most of you HS experience (academically, ECs, friendships etc.) at this point.
  3. For any top school you should be taking the most rigorous course-load available. Are you doing that? Nobody here knows your HS offerings as well as you do.
  4. In terms of a well rounded program you probably should take a Social Studies/History course.
  5. Stanford is a crapshoot for pretty much anyone (unless your parents donated a building or something like that) so don’t go into HS pinning your hopes on that school. There are tons of amazing colleges and universities out there.

We cannot do bio or chem until Junior year and I do have history, I don’t know why I forgot to add it. XD I have Hon US History. We cannot take any APs until sophomore year.

Thank you for the advice and I guess I am kind of thinking about colleges too early. I am taking all honors and from what I know, this is the most rigorous schedule a freshman can have.
