I applied for the BruinCard and already got confirmation that the card is ready for me.
But, do I get it in orientation or do I have to physically walk to BruinCard Centers: 123 Kerckhoff Hall to get it before orientation?

I had it mailed to me, but you can definitely pick it up at orientation. If you want to be absolutely sure, just give them a call.

Did you request them to mail the card to you? How come they did not mail it to me, or I missed a mail?

I honestly don’t remember for sure, it’s been four years. If I recall correctly, if you order it early enough before orientation, they mail it without asking.

There is usually a deadline for you to mail the application for the Bruincard. They usually mail it out if you feel everything out before the deadline. If its after you can just pick it up at orientation. I got mine at orientation. They made it really quick within like 5 minutes and it was in the office next to Bcafe, so after you Check-in in Covel you can just go across to the office and get it, no big deal

Pretty sure the BruinCard center next to Bcafe is closed now. Only center is now at Kerkhoff.

You will receive your BruinCard at orientation. It will be available for collection at Rendesvous after you have checked in to the dorms, at this point you will be directed to check in to orientation outside of Covel. NO CARDS WERE MAILED THIS YEAR.

Additionally, your new student advisor will be able to answer any questions you have tomorrow.

Good luck!

MyUCLA says:
Check-in will take place outside the west entrance of Sproul Hall
After you have checked into Rieber Terrace and dropped your luggage off in your room, you will want to walk down to Sproul Hall to check into Orientation. There will be staff members available to help you find the location.

Right? But I just need to take the shuttle bus from Parking 3, the bus will take me to whereever I should check in, right?

West entrance to Sproul is the same as saying Covel.

Yes, the bus will take you to reiber turnaround.

But, the shuttle bus will be provided in parking lot 3 only???

Thank you so much!

parking lot 3 is where everyone is going.

xxCollegesxx: I can tell from your posts that you are worried about orientation. All I can say is don’t worry, everything from explaining classes, clubs, etc will be explained at orientation. Make sure you have done on the stuff on the checklist on the website I linked (under first year students) and you are good to go.

Above all else, enjoy orientation! Do “Carpe Noctum”, meet people/make friends, etc. It only comes once so no use worrying :)

This might be a dumb question but here it goes… I tried applying for my BruinCard but it says to upload a picture and since I do not have a good size picture and I cannot move on to the other steps of the application. So can I just get my BruinCard at orientation by just taking a picture there, or do I have to really apply online even though I cannot upload a picture.

323GUY: If you don’t have a picture to upload, don’t worry about filling out the application online. You can just get your picture taken at your orientation session
The only downside about waiting until orientation is that you’ll have to wait in line to get your picture taken, and, from what others are saying, you only get one shot to get a goo picture :P

nahrilee: Yeah so I’ve heard, but I do no time to go and take a picture to submit online. I am currently working full-time. Geesssshhh! Cannot wait to get the hell out of this place and into UCLA! Thanks. I will defiantly try to look my best this Wednesday!

Are the bruincards that freshmen get supposed to last them all 4 years? (assuming no lost card)

Mine did. If your Bruincard stops working or otherwise gets damaged, you can pay to have it replaced.

323GUY: If you get your picture taken at your orientation, you don’t have to submit anything online
If you don’t have time to do the online application, just wait until orientation :D

I submitted my old passport picture which had still looked like me when i submitted it. But, since then, I’ve cut my hair (let it down), and gotten contacts. I’m afraid that the picture i’ve submitted is different than what i look like now…What to do? Or should i just wait till i get my bruincard andretake picture? Btw, say, if i lose my bruin card at some pt in the 4 years, can i retake my picture for it?
