I want to get a head start with my schedule for the upcoming 2017-18 school year! Can current BC students or grads help me?
I was admitted to the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences, looking to double major in math and econ.Could you guys tell me which courses are required for Freshman at BC and what required core classes, other than math and econ, I will have to take in order to graduate?
I will be taking the AP Calc BC and AP Macro exams and hopefully I can get at least a 4 on both exams. I also want to take a communication class in my Freshman year so that I can learn some valuable social skills and make a lot of friends.
So the three classes that I will definitely take are communication, multivariable calc (hopefully), and microecon. I’ll also have 6 history credits knocked away. Could you suggest me what other classes I should take? I really want to finish the requirements for math and econ double-major as soon as possible so that I can take some computer science courses, possibly minoring in it.
One more thing-is it really impossible to transfer into the Carroll School of Management from MCAS? I applied for the Arts&Sciences and do not regret doing so, but I still want to have my option open because my interest may change throughout college and I also find finance and accounting very interesting.
you will receive a package concerning courses & schedules prior to orientation. Chill. You’ll have plenty of time to work on First Year stuff over the summer.
Get back to studying for those APs.
But if you must be a gunner, now, look at each Department’s (math & Econ) web page for undergrad major requirements, and the Core requirements. It’s always good to take some Core classes early, rather than wait until Senior year.
Writing, English Lit, Foreign Lang (if you don’t AP or take the subject test), History?

yes, transferring into CSOM is extremely difficult. But if you want that as a backup plan, then also take the CSOM Frosh courses. Portico is usually limited to CSOM students, but you might get into the others on a space-availble basis.
