It depends on the cluster you choose, but I took the IRD cluster and it was definitely a lot less work per quarter than some of the other elective classes I've taken

well i'm an english major ? so do you guys know which one leans more towards my major ?

well can you take clusters if you havent done writing I yet? no right?

i have no idea...i'm pretty much lost

ha i guess that means no...... :)

gogo, you can, you just have to fulfill the writing I requirement before spring quarter

and m8913s, if you want to take a cluster, ideally you would pick one in a topic you're interested in (no one knows this but yourself), but has virtually/completely no overlap with the elective requirements that your major courses would already fulfill (which I don't really know for English majors). Unless you have a really burning desire for that specific topic (but its still counterproductive, but then again its college so its their recommendation but its really your choice)

oh wait, i thought that these clusters were only for freshmen? so if i fulfill the writing requirement by spring quarter, and then enroll, will i then take the clusters as a soph?

No, you take the cluster at the same time, but you can't enroll for the spring quarter session of that cluster until you fulfill the writing requirement

in other words, you take a writing 1 class fall or winter quarter, then you're all set for the writing 2 credit you'll get from your cluster seminar spring quarter xD

ohhh haha i thought clusters lasted a whole year

Clusters do last for an entire year.

oh okay i just read jyancy's post- thanks for the clarification.

thanxs....
