Freshman Courseload

I'm a freshman in the School of Engineering and a potential chemical engineering major. The following is my proposed freshman schedule.

CHEM 218 (4 hours)
CHEM 219 (1 hour lab)
MATH 175 (3 hours)
Intro to Engineering (3 hours)
RUSS 115F (3 hour writing seminar)

Is this schedule too difficult or too easy? I know the standard freshman engineering schedule is 14 hours, so would it be worthwhile to consider adding another easy elective, especially because I may consider transferring to the College of Arts and Sciences to be a chemistry major instead? Would another elective make my schedule too hard?

Thanks!

That looks like a perfect 1st semester course load. It’s exactly what the school of engineering suggests. Don’t underestimate the impact of transitioning to college life. This is the semester to make sure you are set up for success.
