Freshman Dorm question

What are the chances of an incoming freshman being able to get a single dorm room?

i don't really have a dead accurate quantitative answer but from general observation, freshmen are very rarely placed into singles. i believe the students that have health problems or some other legitimate reason (ex. being extremely sensitive sleepers/sensitive to noise or light) get preference of course, but i've never heard of someone getting a single just randomly. after the first semester, some people can't resolve roommate issues and are allowed to change their housing after sorority/fraternity members move to Greek housing--then it depends on availability. at this point, a few freshmen do move into singles second semester.

Lots of freshman get single rooms. They are more expensive so it is easy to get them. If you request one you probably will get one.

soccermom2 is correct. You can get a single room if you request one. Additionally, it is more money (I believe).

Thank you for the info!!!!
