My son was just accepted to Quinnipiac, but I'm really worried about the freshman dorms. I can't imagine being in a room with 3 or 4. Can you let me know how most of the kids feel about that arrrangement? Thanks

My son is currently a freshman at QU. I was also worried about the quad dorms but it has not been an issue. The beds are lofted with one in each corner and the desks are under the beds. There is room in the center for an 8 x 10 rug brought from home. My son is an athlete so he is out of the room daily by 615A, does his practice and workout and between classes spends all his time in the library - or the dining hall. He spends very little time in the room except to sleep. Somehow these things work out. All four roommates have stayed in the room although my son will not be rooming with any of them next year.

My son is a senior now, however I remember his dorm room in Ledger freshman year and there was plenty of room for all four boys. The boys ended up being good friends all throughout college. Each student has there own area with lofted bed, closet and desk under the lofted bed. Besides its nice to meet 3 new friends on the first day of school.

I took my daughter to visit QU and we liked the school. However, I think that spending $42,000 for four students to be in one room (granted, it IS a little larger than a typical room for two at another school) is terrible. I queried a number of students and some of them said that they eventually got used to it. They're planning to build more dorms but it's unlikely that they'll be completed in time for my daughter's freshman year. Again, the rest of the school was impressive.
