Freshman Dorms...?!

So I just received my housing brochure after being accepted and really know nothing about which dorm to sign up for if i do decide to attend. Does anyone know anything about which is the best/nicest/cleanest/newest freshman dorm to live in? I heard something about them just getting done building new frsh dorms, but i may be wrong :/

thanks to anyone that can help!

Doheny looks like the nicest. Congrats!

thanks a bunch! I wish you the best as well, reading through i see you are still waiting. Lots of Luck!

any other opinions on fresh dorms?

bumpo...

Yeah, my girlfriend got Del Ray. Get those. Nicest buildings I have been in so far on the campus. Del Ray North and South are the two newest buildings on campus.

Steer clear of Rosecrans if you're looking for a clean and nice dorm haha. Apparently, according to LMU lore, every year the stoners and druggies get the Rosecrans dorm.

Plus I've been in there, and it's kind of an older building, you can definitely tell.

thanks prezp thats exactly the info i was looking for!

do you happen to know if North or South is more central campus? As in closer to the bulk of the buildings. And is either one much closer to the business school complex?

thanks a lot!

Yeah of course, and Del Ray North and South are located right next to each other. In terms of location, they're in the same place as all of the other dorms. It's really a minute time difference, probably about one or two minutes.

You're probably going to be taking the bulk of your classes in University Hall, which is about a 5 minute drive from any of the dorms, or 10 minute bike ride. About 20 minutes to walk, although I don't reccomend it.

I'm not positive on this one but I do know that some of your business classes are going to be in University Hall, but it really doesn't matter which dorm you live in because all of the freshman dorms are right next to each other.

Either way congrats Huskies, I was just there last night actually haha. You'll love it there. I'm still waiting on my app. so we'll see if I got accepted or not.

Any other Q's?

i am loving this info, again thanks.

so is there any difference between Del ray north and south?

I've been to LMU a few times, and there really is no difference between the del ray dorms. The tour guide said those dorms are the best balance between social/academics. Also they are right next to the other dorms and close to the pizza place that is open until 2am. Pretty much you can walk anywhere on the LMU campus in around 15 minutes.

Rosecrans is the party dorm...and Doheny is nice but I heard it's kind of away from everything.

Nah no difference between the Del Ray dorms.

Haven't been to Doheny yet.

Dear Huskies,
My D was a freshman last year and lived in Del Rey North. The Del Reys are the newest, but ALL the dorms at LMU are nice and spacious. Most of the freshmen dorms are located in the same area next to the chapel and close to the main quad area.
Good Luck at LMU!

Hi,
I just got accepted off the waitlist so I haven't received any info on the housing yet. Can anyone tell me roughly how much the housing costs?
Cheers,
Claire

Housing is about $11,000 a year I think. The information is available at lmu.edu

:)
