On my housing application I requested one roommate. In which dorms could I possibly be placed?

(I'm just real antsy to see which dorm I'll be in...sigh)

I know that when we were discussing housing on the 2012 facebook group someone gave a list of what the room make-up was for ever dorm. You might try looking on there.

btw, I hoping for either one or two roommates as well.

Are you talking about roommates or suitemates? Wasn't the question on the housing app asking about the preferred number of suitemates? If not, I'm in trouble...will probably end up with 4-5 roommates XD

It was for suitemates, however, if you only request one other person, they become your roommate because you only have one room.

Since every dorm has a mix of singles and doubles in or out of a suite, it's very hard to say, but if you've requested 0 roommates, chances are you'll end up in Canaday, which has the most singles.

^ or Greenough.

^did you have a bad fur day?

Canaday has a few psycho singles, but most of the singles are part of a larger suite. Greenough has the pod singles (for the pod people, natch) so if you end up in a normal-person single you'll probably be out in the Union.

note: these statements definitely have not been endorsed by the University

Where would you say the most doubles or triples are?

Big suites in Weld, Wigg, Holworthy, Gray's (sp?), Hurlbutt, Canaday

sweet doubles in thayer. big suites in pennypacker as well.

Hollis and Stoughton both are entirely made up of large, one-room doubles (biggest on campus, i think).

^ That's what I thought. So I guess if I asked for 1 roommate I'll be in either Stoughton or Hollis?

Or Thayer? Am I right?

My daughter asked for five roommates and got two. Some of her friends asked for one and got five! You are actually sorted into one of the yards first (there are yards within the yard) and then placed in one of the dorms, so it's hard to predict in advance.

I'm not sure that it matters what you requested. Not very many freshman get the number of roommates they asked for. Just cross your fingers and hope for the best.

I requested a quad and got a double.

I requested three roommates..and that's what I got. lol.

Our daughter has not heard about her dorm or roommates. Has everyone heard at this point? She is checking the mail every day...

No .. I'm from Texas and I have not heard.

Just arrived..you will get yours soon too!
