<p>I just finished my freshman year and I have several friends who did very well in singles, and they were definitely NOT social outcasts.<br>
It really just comes down to your personality and your preferences as far as the living situation goes. I think that if you’re in a single you do have to make more of an effort to get out of your room and socialize, but that’s not a problem for most people.
Having a roommate is definitely a risk, but I think it’s a risk worth taking. I know a lot of roommate pairs (whether they were paired randomly or found each other on facebook) who have become really close friends and are planning to room together next year.</p>
<p>^^^ dude, thats what I was thinking, because if I got stuck with someone who I didn’t get along with, I’d be stuck with them for the entire year…but the year after that, after I have made some friends, I wouldn’t mind rooming with them…</p>
