Ok, so i got accepted and was paid the housing deposit last week. Me and my friend plan to room together, and put San Jac as our first choice and Duren as our second. What are the chances that we'll get either one of these? Is it too late to hope for San Jac or Duren? any former students apply in December and get in to San Jac/ Duren?

hate to say this but your chances are slim to none. I live in Duren and I did my housing app back in october and put san jac as my first choice and duren as my second.
However, it also depends on when your roommate did their app. If they did theirs earlier, then UT will go by that date for both of y’all.

i was the first one to pay the deposit… oh well guess i’ll be in Jester :(

Nervousjim- I’m a freshman at UT now, and I did my housing application around February 2011 and i REALLY wanted San Jac. I knew I wasn’t going to get it, but I still put it as my frist choice. When housing arrangements came out around July 2011 I got Jester Community Bath, I called housing and they said that I can request to change, kind of like put on a “waiting list.” And how it works is, whoever submits their waiting list first will most likely get the room they want. I submitted mine RIGHT AWAY and I got Jester Shared Bath, I still wasn’t satisfied so I put in another waiting list to be put on San Jac, and after some time I FINALLY got San Jac and I’m living there now and I love it! So, as soon as housing arrangements come out, request for a room change immediately and most likely you’ll get it.

hope it helps! :)
