Freshman engineering retention rate?

Does anyone have an idea of what the freshman engineering retention rate is at OSU? What percentage of engineering students don’t make it to the beginning of their sophomore year? Any help or insight would be appreciated.

My son is finishing his first year in honors engineering and I think they have maybe 430 kids that started in honors engineering in August 09 (it is their largest honors group yet). I don’t know how many will continue but my son will. His friends are continuing although he knows some in the non-honors program who have changed their majors in and out of engineering over the past two years.

Here is some engineering info from OSU’s site:

First to second year retention in the College of Engineering now exceeds 85% compared to the national average for freshmen retention of college students is 77%, last year there were nearly 1,100 new first quarter freshmen in engineering.

This fall, the College of Engineering welcomed one of the largest and brightest classes in university history.

Thank you RMGsmom! That is exactly the information I was looking for. It seems some colleges are prouder of their retention rates than others…and it would seem that TOSU has every right to be proud.
