Freshman Engineering

Does anyone know where to find the cirriculum for freshman engineers... I'm hearing its pretty much all gen. ed. and all the engineers have the same courses right?? Does anyone know where to find this....i dont have a course catalouge and can't find it for the life of me.

http://www3.lehigh.edu/engineering/academics/ugdegrees.asp

I don't know if they all have the "same" courses but it depends on how many credits you come in with...my son started with 9 from AP Physics, and Calc. His first year (last year) he took an elective (Greek/Roman History) plus his English (Comp & Lit) and Eng Computations, Intro to Eng Practices, Calc II, Calc III, Intro to Chem Principles, Eng Applied of Chem Principles (Lab) and one other one that escapes me.

Select the engineering that interests you (Left side column) and you will find the standard curriculum listed.

Laxmom, do you know when admitted students that are entering freshmen get a course catalogue?

I have seen colleges with a standard engineering curriculum for freshman. Lehigh seems to have the requirements left up to the different departments more. The list of depts is at:

http://www3.lehigh.edu/academics/acdepts.asp

By clicking on the undergraduate dept, it may have a list of courses. I can say that Chem Eng and Mech Eng are the same except Chem Eng has a different chemistry course. Some of the eng departments have a list of courses for the major broken down by year, but it starts with soph year. It would seem to me that the frosh eng curriculum is:

Freshman year, (first semester) (15 credits)*
Engl 1 Composition and Literature (3)
Chemistry- Introductory Chemical Principles and Laboratory (5)*
or
Phys 11, 12 Introductory Physics I and Laboratory (5)
Math 21*Calculus I (4)
Engr 1Engineering Computations (3)*
or
Engr 5 Introduction to Engineering Practice (3).*

Freshman year, (second semester) (15 credits)**
Engl 2 Composition and Literature: Fiction, Drama, Poetry (3)
Phys 11, 12Introductory Physics Iand Laboratory (5)
or
Chemistry- Introductory Chemical Principles and Laboratory (5)
Math 22Calculus II (4)
Engr 1Engineering Computations (3)*
or
Engr 5 Introduction to Engineering Practice (3).*
