Freshman Engineering

I got accepted into the Clark School of Engineering, except I'm probably going to switch into a different major sometime later. My question is, is do I have to take any courses required for the Engineering school during Freshman year if I don't plan on majoring in engineering anymore? Other than English and math, do I have to take anything else?

Nope, you're not forced to take any engineering classes. Usually, 1st semester freshmen engineering majors take ENES100 and CHEM135. However, they are not required. But I would recommend you take ENES100 and get a taste of engineering and see if you like it. Maybe that will help you decide if you want to stick with engineering or not. It's a fun class and you'll get a lot out of it (and you will make lots of friends, I guarantee you). And even if you decide that it's not your thing, you can drop the class without penalty in the first couple weeks or with a W in the first 10 weeks.
