Freshman Fall 2009 Schedule

How does this schedule sound? It seems a little tough to me, any suggestions on moving things around or is this pretty average for a first semester pre-med student? Thanks for help in advance.

MWF: 9:00-9:50 Intro Biology
10:00-10:50 Intro Chem
12:00-12:50 Calc I

TTH: 12:30-1:50 Philosophy Contemporary Moral Problems
2:00-3:20 English

Tu: 9:30-12:20 Chem Lab

Th: 3:30-6:20 Biol Lab

Also I have a P/F university requirement on MW from 3:30-4:50

That is pretty standard for freshmen, give or take a class here. In a couple years, you’ll look back and say that was easy compared to what your schedule will be.

I agree. It looks fine to me, and you will look back on it as easy. However, that doesn’t mean you should toss in a bunch more courses. Freshman year is also about beginning the foundation of a resume outside of just grades.

Is intro to bio/chem the same as General Bio/Chem at your uni?

Thanks, your posts make me feel a little better. Yes, intro Bio/Chem are the same as general bio/chem; there is also one for non-science majors, but I’m not taking that one. I’m just a little worried about TTH - going six hours without a break for lunch won’t be too fun.

I feel you on that. You can alway bring something from home to munch on while you walk between classes. I personally just drank coffee during such breaks when I didn’t have time for lunch. Not terribly good for the body though.

this makes me feel much better. my schedule is nearly identical.
instead of philosophy I have cognitive psychology and mine is a little more spread out.

pack a sandwhich I am in highschool and I dont have much time since I spend lunch going through material with teachers and i bring fruit, a granola bar and a pbj sandwhich everyday.

What others have said. It’s a normal schedule. I usually grab a sandwich or something for those 10 minutes between classes on long days (eat while walking to class), or I’d occasionally sneak out of lab (or take advantage of a part that involves waiting) to grab a quick bite, or just sip on some Vitamin Water when the TA wasn’t looking.
