sorry i know this has been asked a million times before but i cant find any of them for some reason, so here im gonna ask! what top schools dont count or barely weigh freshman grades. i know standford and princeton dont. any others? I had a 3.55 weighted freshman year and now im at like 4.2 for the last two years so its kinda pulling my gpa down. any advice?

Calm down. Most schools dont even look at freshmen grades.

Universit of Michigan

I got about a cough 2.6 uw GPA w/ 2 honors freshman year and I managed a 3.6 Soph yr (no honors) so colleges look at improvement too.

true so you think most colleges dont totally mind bad freshman years?

3.5 w is not as bad as mine..if youre looking at Ivies then they would mind..state schools not so much.

This isn't necessarily true. But a bad freshman year only does so much; the majority of colleges are willing to look positively on improvement.

i am looking, at least at reaches, for lower ivies or other top schools. i cant stand how many people go to state schools. im talking like brown, georgetown, jhu level schools.

were talking like a 3.55 weighted freshman year, 4.3 weigted soph year, 4.2 weighted junior year, and prolly 4.4+ senior year because im finally able to take a lot of APs

Your latter year grades mean a whole lot more, but it comes down to really subjective things like essays and SATs and such when they see a dramatic improvement.

which are better :)

..........................uw............w
Freshman Year:....3.66.......3.79
..........................3.89........4.00

Sophomore Year:..3.77.......3.77
..........................3.55........3.55

Junior Year:.........3.68........4.00
..........................3.87........4.00

Is this a good trend?

Youre soph year is kinda weird..you got a lower uw GPA 2nd sem w/ no advanced classes and you got a higher GPA first sem w/ advanced classes frosh year..Im not sure how to interpret that.
