Hello everyone! :) I am currently a freshman in HS. I want to study environmental science (οr biology) in college, but, seeing that I want to attend a school like Harvard and the applicant pool is super-competitive, I'm totally confused as to what I can do to try to reach this goal. I know extracurriculars are important, so I've been involved in environmental research since eighth grade (and I've been pretty involved with that). Other than that, that's really it. I don't play any sports and since my school is small, there aren't a bunch of clubs that I could join. So, that leaves me with the question: what else can I do? I really need to know more about how the college admissions process works so I can be prepared. If you can give me any advice, that would be great! I appreciate all of your help, and thank you!!!

Please read this thread, as it will answer most of your questions: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/harvard-university/1420290-chance-threads-please-read-before-posting-one.html

It is very hard for people to tell you what to do. What you should do instead is to look at some results threads and see what people applying to these schools have been doing to get an idea. Some have gotten in and some have not but they are all trying out various things, and do many things outside of school.
