I am an auto-admit for Fall 2014 and I'm trying to decide where I want to live. I've decided that I want an off campus student private dorm. I've almost ruled out the Castilian and Dobie. I'm mainly looking at The Callaway House, University Towers, and 2400 Nueces. Does anyone have any suggestions or experiences with any of these places? Besides University Towers, these places are new so it's hard finding reviews. Any input will help!! Thank you!

If you can, check out the UT student facebook pages. Even the UT parents facebook pages have a lot of comments about housing. All the parents are raving about Callaway house. Towers seems to be kind of rowdy – lots of guys who want to pledge a frat live there, from what I have read. I don’t know anything about 2400 Nueces.

I live on the 16th floor and it sure is a great place to live! Its well kept, service has been great so far and its close to campus! Callaway all the way :). Staying here again next year :)

I actually got the chance to tour the Callaway and Towers yesterday as well as the university, and Callaway definitely seems like the place to be!!! Maybe I’ll see you there next year!

I have heard that the Callaway house is mostly athletes?

Also if you are a girl I would check our Scottish Rite Dorm, and The Hardin House- especially if you want to go through recruitment!

Are you looking for a party house or somewhere a little quieter? Galileo is looking for Fall 2014 students right now I think.

Callaway or Hardin House? Also, 10 or 14 meal plan?

I’ve heard good things about Callaway. I like the fact that it’s new. But I’ve heard Hardin House is good for girls who want to be in a sorority… I would like to rush but Hardin seems too old for me. Is Callaway good for girls who want to rush?

I live at the Castilian right now, im really glad they are finally doing upgrades. We are getting a brand new cafeteria over winter break. so glad for that. The food is great and I have enjoyed living with alot of different cultures.

Hey I live at Dobie Center right now and I really enjoy it. They have a lot of activities throughout the year like a carnival, movie nights, special speakers. One thing I would say is that the food gets pretty boring after a while but all of my friends are bored with the food at their halls too. I like that it’s like right on campus on a hot spot, near the drag (Guadalupe St.) Also, they’re under new management this semester and they’re making a lot of cool new changes so I expect that next year it’ll be better. One way that I was able to find housing was by going to Freshman Support’s housing site. Good Luck!
