Freshman housing question

Hello,

I will be attending UC Davis in the upcoming Fall semester and had a question about my housing options. I was wondering whether I would be able to live in a non-campus related apartment my first year. Due to medical issues, it would tremendously benefit me more as opposed to the residence halls, and would make commuting much easier than if I were to live at home. I know some colleges require you to live either on campus or with parents, but I couldn’t find anything about that on their websites. If not I guess I’ll have to live the first year at home with my parents.

UCD doesn’t require freshmen to live in the dorms. I know some people that didn’t, and they didn’t encounter any issues. If you’re going to live in an off campus apartment, consider finding someone who’s looking for a roommate (of which there’s a [housing page](Davis Housing | Facebook) for that). You could still find your own apartment if you choose to, but depending on your budget I’d suggest doing the former.
