What do you think of the Parkside suites for Freshmen? I know they're the nicest and you get you're own bathroom with 5 other people, but is it really a lot less social than the res halls? Is it hard for a freshman to meet people in a suite as opposed to the more centrally located residence halls?

Somebody told me that she really liked it and thought it was a great way to meet people. You're guaranteed to make 7 friends in an instant b/c of your suite.

Hmm, that's what I was thinking, is it that bad?

I know at UCLA if you don't live in a res hall and you live in the plazas it's a lot harder to meet people.

But I know the Parkside suites are farther away from the center of the campus and from the main res halls and I'm not sure if they're are a lot of freshen in them...

I hear res halls are better. They are more like a true college experience, you can't really help but being social there. One girl I talked to said 'you can't help but make some really good friends when you are packed on a floor like sardines.' Sure the suites may be nice, but you better be willing to spend the next four years being really close with the other 6 people in your suite, because I heard they are very nonsocial.

Parkside is horrible....that would be the last place I would want to live. It is VERY antisocial...if you go down there halls and knock on their doors they literally answer by saying, "what do you want". I know this because its happened to me. IT is very quiet and awkward there, and it is predominantly international students. Although it is the newest and nicest building, Parkside is horrible....that would be the last place I would want to live.
umm, res halls are gonna be more expensive if you're choosing to live in a single! but in a suite, you're gonna be in a double, so it's more fair to compare it with the price of a double dorm...which is what, $2600? whereas a suite is $3150 or something
