Freshman housing

Which is better...

Mesa Court or Middle Earth?

during the summer I lived in middle earth and they were not bad. Pretty standard for dorms.

If you go back about a year in this forum, you will find endless debate on the subject... for example:

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-irvine/161772-middle-earth-vs-mesa-court.html?highlight=Mesa+Court%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-irvine/161772-middle-earth-vs-mesa-court.html?highlight=Mesa+Court</a></p>

Personally, I think it's a "different strokes for different folks" deal. If you get a chance to visit the campus, take the housing tour. And take it TWICE so you get to see both communities (a given tour only visits one).

One thing to keep in mind: both communities were built in phases. Thus, Mesa Court contains both the oldest and the newest freshmen dorm. So don't believe folks who refer to MC as old and ME as new. On the other hand, do pay attention to what themes to assigned to which communities (and which halls)... when you apply for housing, you can request to live in a theme hall.

They're both better than Arroyo Vista.

I like Mesa

because Middle Earth looks mono-tone

well

both do

but Mesa is nicer-looking

Middle Earth does have the Pippin diner

and that's better
