I recently got accepted into Sixth and I wanted to know how the apartment housing was there. I wanted to save some money by getting a triple apartment but the UCSD website is unclear and I can't tell if there are only two people apartments or if there are any three people apartments as well. Also, if I live in the on campus apartments, can I stay there during winter and spring break?

I heard residence halls are closed during breaks

apartments = yes, you can stay during thanksgiving, winter, and spring breaks.
dorms = don’t even think about it.

well, i guess i have to get an apartment then since i don’t have a place to stay during breaks.

“Its terrible. Despite what the book says” - my friend who goes tthee. i got into sixth as well. poli sci - int rela mjor

Does anyone know if i can move in in late August instead of September?

nope. they rent out a lot of the dorms for other summer programs.

i know this isn’t my thread but I have a question relevant to sixth housing.
^ i was reading through the website and it says some students may be housed in double bedrooms. how does that happen?
i would REALLY prefer living in double bedrooms – is there are way to make sure i can be housed in double bedrooms?

i believe that if you submit your housing application as soon as possible you will have priority in choosing what you want. I took want to live in a double bedroom apartment; actually i would prefer triple but i don’t think they have those.

also does anyone know the rates for the 2009-2010 school year?

I’m not sure how it works in the res halls, but there are only single and double rooms in the apartments. So if you really don’t want a triple, you can try to get into an apartment. It will cost a little more though.

how are the revelle college dowms?!@?#!@

I posted lots of pics of Revelle dorms; check out the link on the main page.

As for Sixth College apartments, I’ve also got pics of those – I lived in Pepper Canyon my second year, which provides space for both Revelle and Sixth College students.
