Definitely look into North Mountain, those are the engineering dorms. If you want dorm style living, also check out sierra madre and yosemite (they have very similar style setups). If you rather have apartment style living, check out cerro vista.

Hi! There are so many posts on this site about Cal Poly Housing. Search housing and you can read the many discussions we have had. If you are just signing up for housing at this point, it is not likely that you will get your first or even second choice. (sorry)
But, you never know because everyone has a different opinion of which dorms are best.

Someone mentioned that when they spoke to a person in housing, they said that all of the singles in Cerro are already spoken for. I garee with the above post that North Mountain is a good choice for engineers. the other engineering dorms are Santa Lucia in the red bricks. The yosemite and Sierra Madre dorms are mixed major dorms. (the towers) Be sure to look on the housing site. they give pretty good descriptions.

Good luck and congrats on getting into Cal Poly engineering!

thank you guys!

I won’t repeat the good advice already posted here, but I just wanted to say that we know a female engineering student who lives in Santa Lucia, part of the red bricks and seems to really like it. She’s in the LLP for engineering, so there are plenty of others around to study with. In her case, it’s almost all guys!

Best wishes to you!
