Freshman in High School, GPA help?

hey, so I’m a freshman in high school and I just finished the year with a 3.56 GPA. I felt kinda awful because all my other friends got 4’s and what not. I’m not gonna make excuses, it’s my fault but I would like help on what to do.

So I got a 73 on an elective, Video Editing and I think this is the reason for why I got a 3.5 (I could be wrong though so please correct me). After I received my C- I tried to keep all A’s and B’s ( I did) but I feel like there’s more I could have done.

Here’s my final grades right now-

English- 82
Geometry- 92
Us History - 86
Biology- 84
Spanish- 96

Video editing - 73
Journalism- 92
Intro to tech theatre- 88
Wellness- 96

Over all GPA 3.56

All my core classes are honors classes and I’m taking AP environmental science next year along with all other honors classes. My guidance counselor suggested I take another arts credit so I’m taking photography or art sophomore year.

My question is, what do i do to raise my GPA and what’s the highest I can possibly raise it.

You said it was your fault that you got a low gpa but why exactly? Did you procrastinate, did you not understand what the teacher was saying, did you not approached the teacher after classes if you needed help, or did you not study? We can’t tell you what to do to raise it unless we know the cause for your low grades
