Daughter is a freshman at one of the northeast boarding schools. What summer opportunities would be good to do during the summer that she is here?
How is Lumiere Research ? I know she has to be selected but I’m looking for someone who is an alumni to share their insight.
She is interested in STEM. Could consider journalism as she writes well. Appreciate any insight. We are not from here so unclear about this entire college application process
Where is here? Houston?
Prefer in Houston because she lives away from us for the entire year.
There’s a HS Summer Programs subsection in the Pre-College area, though it doesn’t get a ton of traffic:
Rice has some summer programs for hs students. If she is interested in medicine she could look into MD Anderson but is probably too young.
Your school should provide a list of summer programs more reputable than Lumiere
I think Rice has some kind of “How to do scientific research” class that high schoolers can take. Maybe once she takes that it could lead to other opportunities…
