<p>What are the chances of being accepted to Harvard after completing a year at another competitive institution, not as a transfer -- but as a freshman? I know that Harvard doesn't accept transfers. Grades are great, and I am willing to start all over again. I was accepted out of high school but went to another school.</p>
<p>Won’t work. To pull that off you’d have to tell bald-faced lies. They specifically ask you on the app to list all the colleges you have attended and college courses you have taken. If you answer that question honestly they’ll obviously consider you a transfer and tell you no.</p>
<p>No way was I interpreting that as lieing or deceiving. What I meant was to fully declare where I had been and what I had done BUT would be willing to do a full four years beyond what I had already accomplished. I guess I’m saying that I am hoping they would consider that a “gap” year.
