Hey guys, how helpful can it be a summer internship for future business majors??? What activity you recommend if not an internship?

carlos25,

Taking a summer internship as early as possible is great move to make. You need to make sure there are no requirements for the internship because some require you have a certain amount of credits.

It is getting tougher and tougher for business majors to stand out, so try to get any experience you can in a "real office". I would suggest trying to get an internship at a small company, because you typically will get a lot more exposure and experience. The more time you spend in an office environment the better you will look when you are interviewing.

If you do not choose to take an official internship, try to get in an office environment any way you can. Tell a company you are really interested in getting some real experience, and ask if they would mind you "shadowing" or following someone around. Tell them you could stop by whenever it is convenient for them. We have some additional information in our jobs section of our website if you are interested.
