I am currently in calc bc and will be a freshman at penn next year. I got a 5 on calc ab last year, and am not sure what to do for next year. What experience have you had with taking Math 104 at penn, or placing into 114 with bc credit. Thanks alot.

U get no credit for calc ab only bc

i know, i am not sure if i want to take the bc test, although i am confident that i would get a 5, because i dont know the difficulty of entering Math 114 as a freshman

It is great that you are taking Calc BC now..you will need it at Penn..at least, some concepts..but you do not have to take Math 114 at all, unless you really want to...or are planning to minor/major in Math/later do PhD in Finance...I would definately take calc Bc test. Even if you do not get 5 for some reason, you can still take a departamental exam in September and oficially place out of math 104. The class is boring as hell and very time consuming...I am glad I did not have to take it, but my roomie did and truly hated it...FYI, some of my friends took Math 114 in their first semester/freshman year..and math 240 in the spring/freshman year..it depends how good you are at it..some ppl do not mind..but most hate...
