^ Geez, lighten up a bit. He's got enough depression worrying about his football team.

He'll feel better when basketball season starts.

^ LOL.

If Duke doesn't beat UConn this weekend, I'm afraid Duke's losing streak is going to continue onto next season.

Northwestern > Duke! See for yourself on Sept 15. :D

So thethoughtprocess is a hot brainybrawn?

searchingon,
Your posts here are becoming a quintessential example of the conceit that one can find all too often in the Ivy League (and you haven’t even started at Brown yet!). You are deluded if you think that the world is full of Ivy wannabees who sadly end up at other colleges and spend their four years pining away at their missed opportunity to attend an Ivy college.

There are great colleges all over the country that have terrific academics, great social life, and great athletic life and provide for many, many, many students a preferred and better undergraduate environment than what one can find at any of the Ivies (and especially the non-HYP Ivies). Duke is one of those schools that can offer equal or better academics and a superior total package.

^^^ who says that I am going to Brown?

Duke academics have never come into question. A top university stands for itself and it does not have to be "compared" to any other institution. When someone who applied to almost all Ivies and top LACs, (plus Duke and a couple of other safeties ) feels the need to constantly rant the " prestige" of the university that is not part of the group in terms of " elitism", there is certainly an issue there. His issue, not mine. I could not care less whether someone likes the ivies or not.

And you are wrong. To many people, the world - unfortunately - has too many ivy wannabees. They apply without really knowing if they are a fit or not. They go for the 'elite status", eventhough they say is because of the top academics. Just look at the thoughtprocess and all the schools he applied to ( WHICH HE DID, I am not "deluding" myself ). Then, they realize that they fit better at another "superior total package" university, which unfortunately lacks a certain .....je ne sais quoi. It is precisely that "je ne sais quoi" what apparently Duke lacks for him, hence the ever present comparisons in spite of the unquestionable top academics, its research, its top students, its top rankings and its gothic cathedral.

Overall I think he comes across as rather insecure. But then again, I have heard that bodybuilders frequently are trying to compensate for something and they may have some issues.....
