<p>Bonus bucks can be used anywhere that takes the meal plan. They can be used on their own (so if a student has already used all meal swipes for the week and wants to get like a Gatorade or a snack or something) or they can be used on top of a meal plan, if they get something that goes over the allowed amount (which is usually around $6, but changes every year and depends on the meal time). Pandini’s, for example, is famous for going over the meal plan amount with a lot of their stuff, so it’s a good place to use the extra bonus bucks.</p>

<p>It can’t be used at places like the Barnes and Noble Bookstore (or the Starbucks in there), but it can be used at the Starbucks at the Colloquium.</p>

<p>Bonus bucks are for food, as I remember, but extra Carolina cash that you put on card can be used for anything. Always have your student tell the cashier which source you want to use for paying for extra amounts for meals or in-between snacks. They probably will ask but might just use your Carolina cash automatically and you want to use up bonus bucks first since they go away at the end of each semester. Carolina cash that YOU put on carries over from year to year and balance is returned when you graduate.</p>
