What should we expect during orientation and what do students do other than the academic part of it? I’m not all for games and stuff so I was wondering how much of that there is.

You should probably look up “Cal Poly Pomona Class of 2018” or maybe an older group “Cal Poly Pomona class of 2017” or something like that on FB to ask questions. I didn’t have freshman orientation, I had transfer orientation, and I think more people use those facebook pages.

Transfer orientation was a lot of information. I think yours is spread over a few days.

I don’t have a Facebook or any social media so I can’t ask any questions directly from students. I tried looking up older threads on here and found a couple but they either talked about transfer orientations or were pretty vague about the experience. My orientations is also for the Honors College so it may be a little different possibly.

You could make a facebook account… Even if you don’t have everything set up. Expect to stay over a few nights, probably in the little brick dorms, get well acquainted with Olivos (dining), tour campus, and if your new friends are ‘down’ enough- go for a hike at night.
