Freshman Orientation

Son is signed about for orientation in June  Question for those that have been there in previous years, do the students stay in dorms and parents make their own hotel arrangements? That is how Ohio State worked their orientation when daughter went 5 years ago. Want to get a hotel room soon if that is how it works at MSU.

That’s how it worked 2 years ago so I expect it to be the same. You drop them off and pick them up. My son enjoyed it! They register for fall and spring

The parent orientation, if you’re interested, is at Kellogg Center on the 1st day of their freshman orientation. Staying at Kellogg is really convenient, but there are a bunch of hotels around, too…

Yup. The parents portion is very informative as well. They talk about campus safety, IT, transportation, separation anxiety, study abroad, a Q&A session, etc. Kellogg is the most convenient hotel, but book early it will fill up.
