<p>Dr_Mom: thanks for the info! :)) I've heard of similar stories, however I wasn't sure how true they are. I'm happy you are confirming them. The thing is, I was rather thinking of taking the placement exams for chemistry.. I didn't really want to skip the intro comp sci course (exactly because of what you just confirmed), but rather such courses.
So I was wondering if that could be doable.. Skip chemistry and instead take some other course which I'll have to take later, and for which I already have some proficiency. The thing is that I want to do a double major without any additional semesters, and for this I need to "free" as much space as possible... :(</p>
<p>To the extent that you are thinking of skipping a class that is a foundation class in your major, you may want to seriously consider taking the class. I agree completely with Dr. Mom. However, to the extent that you got a 5 on the AP Chemistry exam, and you plan to be an economics major, by all means take the credit and skip the class.</p>
