Has anyone heard yet about roommates/dorm assignments?

Yes, several international students were notified yesterday and students in the states (mainly the northeast) are just receiving their mail this morning. Check out the Harvard Class of 2013 group on Facebook.

D got hers today in the mail. We are 30 north of Boston.

Well, SOME Germany students got them today, but not all! Daughter is still waiting.

Does anyone have a link to the dorms, floor plans, etc? I believe there was a posting on CC last year. Thanks!

Also the FDO has little tidbits about each hall and each yard.

both links above are good. Note: at the bottom of the “dorm’s project map” is a like to it’s homepage. This leads you to descriptions on the various dorms by clicking on Text version.

I’m a little bit north of Boston and got mine today.

I got mine today as well. Is it possible for there to be a dorm with two people, three rooms, and two bedrooms? I was under the impression that I would almost certainly be sharing a bedroom, so I am a little confused.

Yes that is possible from a 2008 thread I was reading yesterday.

In Matthews they have quite a few of the three person 2 bedroom suites. I was in one this past year, and it worked out quite nicely.

If it says ‘room type’: Triple: 2 Rooms; Capacity:3, #Bedrooms: 2, does it mean that there are 2 rooms or 3?

From what it says, there are 2 rooms, and both are bedrooms which means there is no common room…but that seems odd not to have a common room. Which dorm are you in?

sev1991’s room description exactly fits the “room” D stayed in at the admitted student’s weekend. She was in Grennough (spelling???). There were two rooms with one larger and one smaller. Two girls had the front (entrance) room and the third had the single. The girl in the single would have to cross through the double to get to her room. I guess you could always make the “single” a bunk room and then have the large room be living space for all three.

OK so be brutally honest - no sugar coating.

Which dorm is really the best?

@anb

i hear that apley hall is like a palace and hollis has ENORMOUS rooms
but someone attending harvard now should probably answer this - this is only what i’ve heard.

So mine says this:

Room Assignment: PennyPacker (12 I think)

Roommate: 1 (USA hockey team player, cool lol)

Room type: Suite, 2 rooms, 1 bedroom, private bath

Is this good? It sounds good to me haha. Plus, why’s it say “suite”. What will it probably be like? And I’m more than happy to walk from my dorm =]

@you’llsee: I’ll be in Greenough - yeah, I thought that was strange as well. I hope the rooms are pretty big, at least ;-)

@smoda61: That’s probably the exact kind of room I’ll be in, then. Do you know if the smaller room is big enough to hold three beds unbunked? (Although I guess I’ll see for myself soon enough )

Sev1991 - When I picked up my daughter, she had been hosted by a student in the double and the student in the single was studying/sleeping so I did not get a chance to see it.

wfcxcooperx - “suite” - you have a living room with a bedroom that sleeps 2 and a bathroom for just you two - kind of like a small apartment.

Hello floormate! :)
