I am an incoming freshman and for housing I requested a quad with three other girls. Today on Agora when viewing the housing application, and clicking “View Room Assignments” it is a list of all of the girls names with a code next to it. For example Z-ASP-F4-101 The 101 changes for every person listed 1 to 800 or so. Does anyone who is an upperclassman have experience with this? I know BC says it means nothing but does it actually mean something? Is the number our ticket in the lottery system? And if two of my requested roommates appear next to me but the other girl doesnt does this mean anything?

All the lines on my D’s Agora listings have an F3 in them. No F4’s. Her individual room also says F3. Although she put double as her first choice. The girls above and below her on the list are not matches for her according to their profiles. Who knows? Reminds me of when we were trying to decipher the Agora changes at Early Action release haha.

Dear Readers : Freshman room assignments will not be made available until early August. You will all collectively drive yourselves (and your pending Eagles) crazy over the next eight weeks wondering about the encoding schemes. As parents, you are making a huge mistake trying to read through lists of names/profiles and determining who and who is not an appropriate match for your child.

When you get to your orientation sessions, you will hear many lectures in the parents track related to “letting go” and letting your now adult student handle these issues. Boston College will not allow “bad things” to happen to your High School graduate. Trust that the roommate assignments will be just fine.
