the first question for this questionnaire is killing me. I don't want a roomate that only wants to use the room as a place to study, but then again I don't want to use the room solely for partying. Does anyone know if there's a way to either choose both? or if NYU interprets leaving this question blank to mean that you want a roomate somewhere in the middle of the two options?

Roommate matching is completely random.

Have fun.

haha, I had the same dilemma. I eventually put down study rather than social... but I guess if it's completely random ^ then it makes no difference either way... =(

I think most of the dorms have places to study outside of your room. Plus there's entire floors that are designated quiet areas in the library.

i think the only part of your housing preferences that nyu has to honor is smoking or non-smoking

I put Studious because I doubt anyone is really at either extreme, but if I happen to be placed someone who was really extreme, I'l rather that extreme and just party other places than my room. If they're overbearingly strict about a certain thing, you can just pull out the university dorm rules and point to what allows you to do what.

i would rather be the loud one. so i put studious. haha.

Well most kids that get into NYU usually study and get work done, so I went with the "social"/hangout roomate... i mean I doubt there are a lot of people who party all day and get no work done.

Haven't filled out the housing form yet. Is that where the roommate questionnaire is? Thanks!

yes that is where it is

Wow, I don't remember a roommate matching questionnaire. I think they did away with it last year...I suppose it's back.

im not liking this questionare either
