how is the workload for this schedule? will it be challenging for an average cal student? and i also want to know the workload for upper div cs and econ classes. how many hours of work outside of class does uppdiv cs and econ classes need?

cs61a
econ1
math54
public health 116

Are you familiar with CS? If so, CS shouldn’t be a big problem for you. Econ1 is usually one problem set a week. Math is more if you get it or not. Some math classes don’t even collect hwk, so you just need to know the material really well for the quizzes & exams (which mean you need to understand/do the hwk ofc).

Go find a decal/seminar to top your schedule up to 17 units. In case you figure out one class is not working out too well, drop it and you’ll still have 13 units to spare.

That being said, it looks tough for an a first semester schedule, but if you can do it, go for it. If not, test the water and drop accordingly before the deadline!
