Freshman schedule help!!!

Ok. I wrote up to 30 pages for a research paper in AP Euro…over the minimum page requirement, but you also had to “thoroughly cover your topic,” or you’d have lots of points taken off, and my topic needed that sometimes- tough grader. My longest was my highest grade(A+), and the shortest one was my lowest grade (B+) on a research paper in that class this past year. The tests in that class were very difficult, and the time spent on research papers that were long helped bring up the grade a little (2 tests, 1 paper per quarter- that x2 for each semester, no homework/reading points)

What if I took my posted schedule and took out 1 1-unit class, and exchanged it for a 0.5 unit class? Maybe could look into finding a 0.5 unit required class…

I know you mentioned theory, but where are music history and solfege (unless they put solfege with theory)?

iluvpiano: you do realize that you’re not supposed to have everything for the next four years figured out already, right? Considering you haven’t taken a single college history or music course, you don’t even know if you’re going to stick to your prospective path. There is a wait-and-see aspect to college.

Also, my experience is very different from PRiNCESSMAHiNA’s. I’ve never had a professor who only tested on what he taught, considering we are a good amount of reading per week that are relevant to the course. It’s all specific to the school.

@singingflutelady- Solfege must be in with theory. Music history starts sophomore year, so that’s why it’s not in there now.

@zchryevns- I know I don’t have to. I just want to have a rough idea of how this should work out. I do that with everything- I have to have a plan, I can’t just be a go-with-the-flow type of person. Otherwise I’ll worry that it won’t fit and I won’t get it all done in time.

That’s the thing: you don’t know what you need to get done, much less the time frame in which you need to complete it. It’s good to have a rough idea, but you are trying to pinpoint how difficult a history major is when it depends entirely on the school and its individual professors. You haven’t even taken a single college course at your school yet, nor have you been a student at the school for even one day. Relax.
