Are freshman absolutely not allowed to take upper division courses (numbered 100 and up), or is it just recommended that we do not?

It's strongly recommended. I think freshmen are absolutely allowed though.

Anyone want to recommend me a fine arts class? Is there a list of them somewhere because i want to know the classes before I enroll in them.

Here's the schedule of all classes:

Many of the upper divison courses (100+) have prerequistes neways so i dont think you'll be able to take them. If they dont and the class seems interesting to you, i dont see y you shouldnt take it.

thank you slorg

for a fine arts class...i recommend GOSPEL CHOIR...even though it sounds really random if you're not familiar with anything associated to gospel music, it's a really fun and easy class for 3 units...and also, usually freshman are able to take upper division classes, but they need to take care of the prerequisites first...but if you satisfied all your GE's or whatever through summer jc classes or something, then you're good to go! i knew a few people that took organic chem (CHEM140A,B..?) during their second quarter of their freshman year so it's definitely possible

damn, chem 140ab during freshman year?? thats effin crazy. are they super nerds or something?

they were actually potheads that got kicked out of UCSD...or dropped out...or at least one of them did =

oo so thats how they got so smart, they were using brain stimulating herbs.......

GOSPEL CHOIR! My friend told me that everyone at UCSD just takes it at least once, for fun :)

several people take chem 140a/b their freshmen year...but you can only do that if you got a 5 on the Chem AP...as you guys probably know, AP scores force you to skip certain courses, especially in physics, math and chem
