Freshman Schedule

What are you guys planning on taking freshman year, also include your major.
I was thinking:
Writing Seminar
French 121
Chem 215
Math 122
Physics 207

Major: Math and Chem

Phys 207 i think is for soph and juniors. Maybe take Bio. Also, you are taking 19 credits. I don't think your advisor would allow that. I'm pretty sure you cannot take more than 18 without approval for the first semester. You really cannot gauge the difficulty of the coursework at Cornell, unless you go to a competitive top magnet school or prep school.

looks good. though very few people do a double major with chem. some might have minors or concentrations. and if you do math and chem, mosts likely you will be interested in physical chemistry, so you will want to take physics 112-213 instead. it will be ambitious, but doable.

it's.....may. I'm not worrying about it right now.

thanks guys!
I was wondering if any one could tell me about the difficulties of honors courses at Cornell.
Particularly Honors Chem 215-216 and Honors Math (Calc) 122

Honors just means for the majors. So Honors chem is for chem majors and honors math is for math majors. That's all. They assume you know a bit more and they go into more topics and more depth with the topics.

Ouch. This is doable, I guess, if you're willing to not have much of a social life.

Fun filled schedule!
Although freshmen are not allowed to take physics 207, you can talk to the class professor about it.
Before starting Cornell, i thought i would double major in chem and bio...now i am only doing bio and i wish only if there was a half major!
I am not trying to discourage you but double majoring in chem nd math will be very hard...so for plan B you should just sart thinking which one you like the most.

Take out Physics 207 and you have a workable schedule.
