Freshman Schedule

So yeah I’ll be an incoming freshman fall of 2007 and I was accepted into the six-year accelerated combined bachelor of science in athletic training/doctor of physical therapy program at Sargent College.

Anyway I am unfamiliar with typical college class schedules and how credits and all that kinda stuff work so I looked up my cirriculum on the Boston University website. I’m just wondering if what I found was everything that I will be required to take or just the classes specific to my program?..

I won’t post all six years, but this is what I found for my freshman year:

Fall Semester

CAS BI 105 Intro. Biology for Health Sciences (4)
CAS CH 17 Life Science Chemistry I (4)
CAS WR 100 Writing Seminar (4)
SAR HP 151 Intro to Heath and Rehab Sciences/or PDP (2)
Humanities elective (4)

Spring Semester

CAS BI 106 Human Anatomy (4)
CAS CH 172 Life Science Chemistry II (4)
CAS PS 101 General Psychology (4)
SAR HS 201 Intro. to Nutrition (4)
SAR AT 205 AT Practicum I (1)
PDP Physical Education (1)

So is this pretty much my schedule or am I missing a few classes in there somewhere? Also, I think the numbers in parentheses following each class are the number of credits each one is worth but I’m not sure…

Also I’m interested to know how challenging this schedule appears to be because at my school’s orientation the professor in charge of this program made it seem as if it were abnormally difficult, however, this could be due to the number of clinical hours we are expected to commit every week in addition to the course load…

Well first off congratulations, that's a great program. Secondly, it looks alright to me. I know with that program you're going to be taking slightly more than average (average is about 16 credits). But obviously you're intelligent and I'm sure you'll do fine. Yes, the program is more difficult because you're cramming a lot into 6 years. But people do it, so it's possible.

Yeah one of the professors said it was somethin like 18 credits per semester not including clinical obligations and summer coursework beginning after sophomore year.
