Hey, I just recently scheduled my classes for the fall. I'm majoring in cbn and plan to apply for med school, I'm placing out of gen. bio 101 and 102 but im not sure if that is the right move. Dr. Bruce sed that it's best to hit the ground running for a major like this so he sed most should take gen bio and gen chem freshman year, I dont think im placing out of gen chem, but would it be best for me to skip bio and go straight into the fundamentals of cell biology and fundamentals of neurobiology or would skipping bio hurt me? also, should i even plan on taking any courses in my minor? either way ill be in gen chem, gen bio or fundamentals, expos, calc I and figs in health professions, would taking psych or sociology be too much?

o, also, i was thinking that i should just place out of gen bio 101 (my brother sed that that class is useless and Dr. Bruce also sed that your never going to be using the plant biology or eco in there ever again) and take bio 102 in the spring instead, does that sound possible and still take a fundamental in the fall?

sorrry, last note, they’re 200 level courses, i dont even knoe if i can take them.

A lot of questions there. Yes, of course you can take 200 level courses as long as you have the appropriate pre-reqs. If you feel comfortable with biology, I wouldn’t waste time taking it again, but if you want a better foundation, go for it. Gen chem, gen bio/funds, expos, calc 1, figs=16 credits I think? Taking psych or sociology wouldn’t be too much since those classes are pretty easy imo, however, there is no rush. 16 credits should be fine and holding off on those won’t hurt. You also have to spend some time adjusting to college life, so don’t stress yourself too much on the first semester.
Good luck.

freshmen can schedule now???
omg
