Hey guys,
Other than the core classes (which you fill out on Novasis), how do you find out what classes you will be taking your freshmen year. I'm an arts and sciences student, and i know i'll be taking a language, theology course, macro economics, and like world history or something. But i am a bio major and I"m wondering what core classes I will have to be taking for that major, and i also want to minor in astronomy, so I was wondering where I get classes filled out to minor in that course....Any advice on that???Thanks a lot

I think all your fall semester freshman courses get selected for you from the core classes. There are more than enough that you have to take to make up a full credit load your first semester, if you look at the core curriculum requirements on the Villanova website.

what do you mean they will be selected for me from my core classes? I still don’t quite get what you are talking about. There has to be some place where I sign up for classes for my astronomy minor, because as of now no one from Villanova even knows that i want to minor in astronomy, so I obviously have to sign up for classes somehow. If you could explain a little further that’d be great thank you very much

you dont declare a minor until after you get there. your first semester is entirely fulfilling core requirements.

ohhh ok…so does that mean I won’t be taking a bio class and bio lab or chem and chem lab my first semester at nova? It’ll just be the classes that I signed up for on Novasis?

My daughter is also a Bio major at Villanova starting this fall. She got her laptop, and her schedule is already made for her to see. It’s kinda of weird though that she’s taking Bio when her Bio AP scores are not even back yet. If she gets a 4 or 5, wouldn’t that satisfy her first Bio requirement?

Have you gotten your laptop yet? When you do, your schedule should be available for you to see.

Good luck. Astronomy sounds very interesting.

thank you very much, I appreciate that. Yes, I always have had an interest an astronomy and look to pursue my interests more in college.

I did indeed get my labtop, but I don’t know where my classes will be found…Our course selections were due only a day ago, so I doubt that my entire freshman schedule will be scheduled already onto my computer.
