I wanted to make a new thread for any incoming college freshmen who will receive/have received scholarships from UGA to post what they got, or just a place for anyone to post scholarship info they know in general. I personally haven't received anything yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I do know of a friend, however, who just received the presidential leadership scholarship, so I'm assuming those have been sent out already?

No one from our high school has been notified about scholarships from UGA.

Check the bottom right hand side of your status check page. My child got notification of having received both the Classic Scholars award and Presidential Leadership Scholarship via the status check page. The Classic Scholars award was made a day or two after the initial acceptance notification. The Presidential Leadership Scholarship appeared today. We got a letter in the mail about a week after the Classic Scholars notification appeared on the status check page regarding Classic Scholars, but haven’t gotten the letter yet for the Presidential Leadership award – so it looks like the status check page is the first notification regarding scholarships.

Nothing for DD so far. She is still in the running for Foundation Fellows & I understand that they do not award them scholarships until Foundation Fellows announced. I may be wrong on this but that appears to be the case based on last year’s post.
Paying for college x4:So does the Presidential & Classic Scholar add together? Fantastic! Do you have quadruplets?I have a friend that has quadruplets that are college sophomores.

Have they invited the FF at this point?

Sadly, none of the bigger scholarships stack.

We’ve got four kids all in or getting close to colllege, but not quadruplets. If everyone finishes on time we won’t ever have more than two in college at a time. I don’t know whether this is a good thing or a bad thing in terms of financial aid. We might just qualify for need based aid with four in college at the same time, but probably not with two at a time – though in the end we would end up spending just as much money over ten years instead of four. Still, I think I’m glad my kids were a little more spread out. I cannot imagine having four infants at once and I definitely cannot imagine dealing with simultaneous college application processes for four high school seniors!

You all may want to look into this.

“The University of Georgia today announced that it has launched the Gateway to Georgia Scholarship Program. Gateway to Georgia is an effort designed to meet the increasing need of students who are academically qualified but have financial circumstances that might otherwise prevent them from pursuing a UGA degree.”

^Wish they had more scholarships for other schools…

Yeah all I’ve been notified of is the classic scholarships, but sadly, that’s not going to be enough to cover my OOS tuition

There are still ways to win scholarship once you’ve matriculated into college. Don’t forget that. It’s a new beginning starting freshman year.

How soon can you apply for scholarships after you become a student? Can you apply the next semester or mid semester? Or do you have to wait a year?
